HORRIBLE HORRIBLES is a picture book and poem digitally illustrated by Franklin Haws and written by Tom Maggi. And yes, we are
looking for a publisher...

Brief synopsis:
A poem that shows, in a non-threatening way, the nightmares of a young boy-- but in the end, all is well, because Daddy is there. Unlike some of the books on this subject, I've tried to illustrate the scary creatures in a very un-scary clever way. Our goal was not to add to the anxieties of the children reading the book but to amuse them.

An extra element I added is that I repeat landscapes and characters here and there, even when they are not the subjects of that line in the poem. This will not only give the child something to look for each time the book is read, but it also ties together the locations and characters, as if they all live in the same neighborhood, and that the events occur around the same day or time.

Audience:
HORRIBLE HORRIBLES is a picture book (for parents and children 3 - 6).

What need does the book fill?
Comfort children about bad dreams; reinforce a positive supportive role for fathers.
