Working as digital illustrator south of the river in Shakopee in the south metro for ten years, Franklin Haws has created artwork for both print and the web using the top illustration and design programs out there but, for the most part, he utilizes Corel Painter. It’s a wonderful application that can recreate the look of media such as oils, chalk, air brush and water colors to name a few. This application along with Illustrator and Photoshop, are the three main tools in Franklins belt. Primarily a Macintosh user, he has used Window machines onsite while designing websites and banners for West Group.

In addition to being current with today’s illustration trends, Franklin has a warm spot in his heart for past design and illustration styles and subjects, with Pulp illustration being a favorite. As you look though the samples, you’ll notice that Franklin can illustrate in a photo realistic style as well as fanciful.
